JOTT -2019 - Jamboree On The Trail

Who – Calling Scouting of all age’s sizes and shapes!

What – Again this year, the 40th Canadian Baden-Powell Guild and Coho Area is hosting
participation in an international event for the worldwide family of Scouts.
Where – Belcarra Regional Park – with its heritage and natural beauty encompassing towering
forest and the open field to the sea teeming with life.
When - Saturday May 11th, 2019 – 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Ventures and Rovers might take on a challenge, partake in a service
project or a historical survey of First Nation’s settlement-sky’s the limit.
This year we are again extending a CHALLENGE by way of a Free Registration to a team of
up to 8 members to erect a TOWERING flag stand that displays a minimum of 3 flags yet
more the better. The Scouts Canada, Canadian, and National Guild flags will be provided.

Submit your Concept Design via email to Scouter Jim by March 10th and then the Baden-
Powell Guild will pick the winner at their March 13th meeting.

EVERYONE – let us know if you are interested in participating in an
AMAZING RACE as the Coho Area Youth Network is willing to host a 2-
hour event in the park if there is enough interest and commitment to
sign up ahead of time. Let Scouter Jim know by March 28th Cut-off as
the decision will be made at the March Coho Area Meeting.
Official Opening Flag Break will be at 9:45 a.m. The picnic shelters have been reserved for our
exclusive use and although no formal closing, retirement of the flag will be at 2:30 p.m.
After walking, running, strolling, kayaking, kite flying, cycling, and piggy backing or by whatever
means you devise to travel the park and partake in your planned day, be sure to be back to the
picnic shelter between 11:30 and 1:30 as there will be the annual BBQ waiting for you!
There are only a limited number of spots available so act now to plan ahead and register
directly with Scouter Jim early as this year Spring Break is March 18th – 29th

so Plan now, ACT now to avoid that last-minute panic!
Registration MUST take place before March 28th to ensure badges arrive on time. The cost is
again only $5.00 per person which includes your hamburger or smokie, chip bag and drink but
wait .... for those that register before March 28th the Guild will supply the JOTT22 participation
badge as well – the 2nd in a new set of 5 Bears! Afterwards, well the last day to register will be
April 30th and while the cost is still $5.00, you will be responsible for obtaining your own badge
as it will be too late for us to order it in time for the event – so it pays to register on time!
