IT’S THAT TIME of year again when Group and Section teams are working at putting together great programming for the upcoming year. DON’T FORGET to put JOTT on the list of must do. For many of our youth it is the one World Scouting Event that they get to do and Coho Area Scouting with the help of the Baden-Powell Guild is a large part of it! See the attachment for more information.

Tuesday September 15th! 7:00pm at Erikson House – Camp McLean

Promote Scouting Adventures and raise much needed funds for your group at the same time!

We want to work with you to make your group's Scout Popcorn Sale this fall a real success story! If your group has never participated - give it a try. There is no cost to the group - no inventory to store - just order what you sell and raise money for the youth! Scout Popcorn sales have raised over $100 million dollars for local Scouting since 1990. 40% of money goes back to the participating groups directly and overall a total of 60% back into Scouting in Canada.

Maple Leaf Camp for this year will not be held.

The Group Commissioner Appreciation Dinner ( originally planned for May 24th) has been postponed due to the Commissioner training for AC’s and AYC’s this weekend.

An invitation will be sent out to the GC’s when the new date has been determined.

This year's Fraser Valley Council Beaveree ran with the theme "Medieval". Many of the groups in WestSurDel contributed stations to this event. 10th & 17th Sur Del combined efforts to run an activity station which offered Beaver Knights opportunities to shoot trebuchets at a castle, to race their steeds on an oval track, to practice "pool noodle sword play" so that they were prepared to attack the villainous Black Knight, along with other training in the corral, and tests of agility and strength. Group Commissioner Ron Herrington commented, "I have never seen a happier bunch of kids!" Troop Scouter Paul Davis replied, "That's the reward...just seeing the smiles on the kids' faces!"

Second year scout, Gabriel Riquelme, teamed with Deborah Jones from the Cougar Creek Streamkeepers to co-ordinate an invasive plant removal project in Delta. Cubs, scouts, leaders and parents turned out on Saturday March 14, 2015, to an Ivy Pull.
