While helping celebrate “100 Years of Cub Scouts 1906 - 2016” at this year’s “Pioneer” themed Cuboree, hundreds of Cubs and Scouters from across the Fraser Valley enjoyed rotating through a wide variety of great activities under a beautiful April sun at Camp McLean.

The BCY Key 7 – Council Commissioners and Council Youth Commissioners and the Council Executive Director for Cascadia, Fraser Valley and Pacific Coast Councils, are pleased to announce the appointment of Bill Schulte as the Chair of the Jamboree Planning Team for the Pacific Jamboree 2019 to be held in early July 2019 at Camp Barnard located in Otter Point, west of Sooke, BC on spectacular Vancouver Island.

Bill is a Scouter in Greater Victoria and has held a number of Section positions with 1st Sooke and 1st Arbutus. He has also held Commissioner positions at the Group, Area, and Council as well as being a Trainer and Service Scouter.

PJ’19 will be Bill’s 4th Jamboree, his 3rd PJ. Bill started with PJ’11, and then CJ’13, as Sub Camp Support. For PJ’15, Bill took on the position of Deputy Camp Chief and enjoyed the experience tremendously. He looks forward to the opportunity to plan a great Jamboree with the Jamboree Team for PJ’19.

Plan now to attend the Pacific Jamboree in early July 2019 at Camp Barnard in Sooke, BC where we hope to once again give you a great, safe Scouting Adventure in the West Coast wilderness.

Bill can be reached at

Please join us in congratulating Bill Schulte on his appointment.

Cuboree 2016 was a day of fun, friendship and sunshine for all who attended. Thank you to the Venturers, Rovers and Scouters who created fun activities for the Cubs. This was not a camporee year, however, a number of groups did camp over to enjoy the rest of the weekend. Thank you to all who helped to make this a very successful day!

It is our pleasure to announce the appointment of Amy Ringrose as the Area Youth Commissioner for Fraser Cheam. Amy’s appointment is effective immediately and he will begin working closely with Dionne and Terry to support the area in the 5 priorities.

I am very excited to have Amy join the team and continue to grow the youth involvement in Fraser Valley. With her dedication and enthusiasm for Scouting, Amy will be a great asset to the team. Amy has been very involved with her group as a GYC. She will be able to ensure that groups in Fraser Cheam are supported and exceed while on the Canadian Path.

Thank you Ian Wilson for all your service to Fraser Cheam and Fraser Valley during your term as AYC.

Please join us in welcoming Amy to the team!
