Fraser Valley Council

The Fraser Valley Council supports and administers Scouting in the Fraser Valley area of British Columbia. Fraser Valley Council is one of twenty two Councils that make up Scouts Canada, and one of three in British Columbia and the Yukon.

The Fraser Valley Council encompasses the geographical area from Tsawwassen in the West, to the village of Anmore in the North, to the town of Hope in the East, but not including Richmond, Burnaby, Vancouver or areas north of Vancouver.

With more than 100,000 members, Scouts Canada (see is the nation’s premier youth-serving organization. Fraser Valley Council has about 8,000 members: 6,500 youth and about 1,500 volunteers.

It is our pleasure to announce Eoin Mowatt as the Deputy Council Youth Commissioner for Program for the Fraser Valley Council, effective immediately. He will be working closely with DeEtte Bryce to support program in the Fraser Valley. Eoin has been involved in scouting since Beaver Scouts. In his 14 years in scouting he has been awarded the Chief Scout’s Award and the Queen’s Venturer Award. Along with receiving his Medal of the Maple he has achieved the Silver Standard of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. We are very excited to have Eoin join the team and continue to grow the youth involvement in Fraser Valley Council. With his dedication and enthusiasm for the Canadian Path, Eoin will be a great asset to the program team and the Council Youth Network. Please join us in welcoming Eoin to the team! Another super successful Cub Skills Camp with over 300 Cubs and Scouters, parents and Offers of Service taking in the beautiful weather at the large venue of Centennial Beach, Boundary Bay Park. Cubs rotated through 12 fantastic stations that included No Trace Fire, Water Safety, Focus Flex, PJ and WJ Jamboree, Knife Safety, Knots, Scouts Own, SAR (Search & Rescue), Simple Shelters, T-Shirt Silk Screening, Rope Making, Woggle Making and First Aid. TV presenters Sakis and George from the Greek travel show "World Party" were also on hand to help out and enjoy the activities along side the Cubs. Camp McLean – October 2nd , 3rd & 4th THIS YEAR’s Camp Kick-Off will be another fun filled adventure for all! Third year Scouts will be participating in a C. The Basic Scouting Skills Program will be on Saturday and will enable 1st year Scouts to earn their permits. There are still many exciting events for the Activity Scouts to choose from on Saturday and Sunday. Lunch will be provided on Saturday. There will be activities for all participants on Saturday evening. This year 3rd year camp is at Gold Creek Golden Ears Park. Meeting at parking lot at 5:15 ready to hike at 5:30. Late comers please arrange ahead of time with Brent Cost to be $10.00 for those participating in the Leave No Trace and $5.00 for those not participating. To cover cost of badges Kick-off and Leave No Trace for leaders, staff, and youths.
