About Scouts CanadaThe Fraser Valley Council supports and administers Scouting in the Fraser Valley area of British Columbia. Fraser Valley Council is one of twenty two Councils that make up Scouts Canada, and one of three in British Columbia and the Yukon.

The Fraser Valley Council encompasses the geographical area from Tsawwassen in the West, to the village of Anmore in the North, to the town of Hope in the East, but not including Richmond, Burnaby, Vancouver or areas north of Vancouver.

With more than 100,000 members, Scouts Canada (see is the nation’s premier youth-serving organization. Fraser Valley Council has about 8,000 members: 6,500 youth and about 1,500 volunteers.

Camp McLean – October 2nd , 3rd & 4th THIS YEAR’s Camp Kick-Off will be another fun filled adventure for all! Third year Scouts will be participating in a C. The Basic Scouting Skills Program will be on Saturday and will enable 1st year Scouts to earn their permits. There are still many exciting events for the Activity Scouts to choose from on Saturday and Sunday. Lunch will be provided on Saturday. There will be activities for all participants on Saturday evening. This year 3rd year camp is at Gold Creek Golden Ears Park. Meeting at parking lot at 5:15 ready to hike at 5:30. Late comers please arrange ahead of time with Brent Cost to be $10.00 for those participating in the Leave No Trace and $5.00 for those not participating. To cover cost of badges Kick-off and Leave No Trace for leaders, staff, and youths. IT’S THAT TIME of year again when Group and Section teams are working at putting together great programming for the upcoming year. DON’T FORGET to put JOTT on the list of must do. For many of our youth it is the one World Scouting Event that they get to do and Coho Area Scouting with the help of the Baden-Powell Guild is a large part of it! Tuesday September 15th! 7:00pm at Erikson House – Camp McLean Promote Scouting Adventures and raise much needed funds for your group at the same time! We want to work with you to make your group's Scout Popcorn Sale this fall a real success story! If your group has never participated - give it a try. There is no cost to the group - no inventory to store - just order what you sell and raise money for the youth! Scout Popcorn sales have raised over $100 million dollars for local Scouting since 1990. 40% of money goes back to the participating groups directly and overall a total of 60% back into Scouting in Canada. The Group Commissioner Appreciation Dinner ( originally planned for May 24th) has been postponed due to the Commissioner training for AC’s and AYC’s this weekend. An invitation will be sent out to the GC’s when the new date has been determined. More »
